My smart goal is to engage in physical exercise and has a healthy lifestyle through a balanced diet. I have selected this goal considering that I have in the recent months experienced rapid rising and falling of my blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia). It is because of that particular health condition that I experience challenges with my nerves especially through tingling, numbness and burning especially at my fingertips. I intend to ensure that I have a balanced level of blood sugar by taking foods with balanced sugars, fats, protein and take 1 hour of physical activity daily.
In a bid to commence my smart goal, it is essential that I stipulate my plan that will act as a platform and guide towards achieving this goal. If such a scenario emerges, there will be a need to review the plan and make appropriate changes. I met a nutritionist and the medical laboratory professional and had my blood sugar checked. My blood sugar levels were below normal 36mg/dl. After a meal the level was 72mg/dl way below the required for a diabetic individual.

Upon starting to work on the plan, I ensured that I did not skip the meals or change them for anything other forms of food. I must admit that it was quite hard for me to adapt to the schedule especially considering that the amounts of foods were regulated. However, in consideration of the complexity of the health condition that had influenced me to engage in this plan, I did not skip any meal regardless of the circumstances. However, in three days, I had gotten used to the plan.
It is imperative to stipulate that setting of goals is very crucial. It provides a platform for which one manages his or her health condition. For instance, in my case, I have now adopted to this schedule and even have made daily orders for the substances that I believe cannot be stored in the fridge like the fresh fruits. After following this plan, I visited the medical laboratory scientist and my blood sugar levels before taking the meals was rated 90mg/dl and two hours after the meal, the glucometer indicated 144mg/dl. These levels are normal and an indication that the plan worked out excellently for me.
