Wrangell St.Elias national park was commenced in December 1978 as the largest national park in America. The main aim for it establishment was to preserve and maintain the natural scenic beauty of the wide range of geological, glacial, and coastline landforms. This was achieved by the Department of the interior, national park service working along with the national park management in America.
Wrangell St.Elias national park was started together with the other national monuments by the Alaska national lands conservation act. An organization that designated the national park officially in 1980. This strategy was brought about by the Alaska national interest and lands conservation aimed at different strategies to develop and preserve the park maintaining its ecology to avoid extinction of the diverse habitats in the future generations.
This department in partnership with the park management developed a plan to keep the continued access to various wilderness-based and recreational opportunities to improve facilities in the park. The organization put more effort into place to make positive change and progress in the park since it was of great importance to various people from different parts of the world.
The beautiful scenery of glaciated valleys, geological landscapes, and natural vegetation that existed in the national park was among the best tourist attraction sites. This as well made the conservation bodies more active in the preservation of the park. The department of interior and the national park service intensified its effort towards regulating the use of the national park and historical monuments together with wildlife providing recreational enjoyments to the tourists and the future generations.
The national park service developed and implemented the plans in collaboration with the park management and the department of interior to promote programs on cultural values and importance of these areas to the public through publications and exhibitions.
