1. What is the name of your interest group?
2. Describe the purpose of your interest group. What are they trying to accomplish?  Describe the interest group. What cause does it advocate? What change does it want and why? What are its goals?
3. What are they trying to do with their website (i.e. Are they trying to recruit members?, pressure Congress?, publicize their cause?, other?)?
4. What are some of the different activities that your interest group partakes in to achieve their goals? Provide a minimum of 3 specific examples.
5. Does your group seem to be a more extreme or mainstream group? How could you tell?
6. What would you do if you were to get involved with this group? Do you feel like you could make a difference through this group? How so? Explain.
7. If you were to join this interest group, what incentives would you gain? What benefits?
8. How does this interest group help/benefit the state of Texas?

Please keep in mind that papers will be checked for plagiarism before I grade them.  The paper should be 3-4 pages (can be longer if needed) and must be written as a formal collegiate-level paper not a list of bullet points or numbered answers.

Include a simple heading on your paper with Name, Course and Section, Date, and Heading.
As you write your paper, remember to include a Works Cited page and, as per MLA rules, in-text citation of the information that you pulled from your sources.  Please use in-text/parenthetical citations for quotes, etc, pulled from sources.
Avoid “long quotes,” which are quotes that go longer than 5 lines of page space and are usually indented in toto, and you should limit your quoting in your paper to less than 10%.  Remember, I want to see what you have to say about the interest group not what your sources say.
Do not use a paper that you have submitted to another class, even if that class was a previous attempt at this course.  This is self-plagiarizing, and it will be viewed as plagiarism as well.
