If race were a valid scientific category for dividing humans into distinct biological groups, then we would be able to classify populations into a set of categories based upon physical characteristics. This exercise is designed to provide the participants with an opportunity to classify 16 individuals using various U.S. census guidelines.
Procedure
Complete the following two tables. This images to complete these tables are provided in the “Race and the U.S. Census, Critical Thinking Exercise” document.
Record which two census years you will be using, and the racial classifications for each of the 16 individuals.
