Practices
of the Early Church That Are Still Being Practice in Today’s Church

The
early church used to believe in the element of love. It emphasized on the need
to love God, Love the people and love the believers. The church has gone to the
extent of applying the concept of love to the non-believers[1]. The today’s church has
maintained that it will continue to endorse the need to love God first before
moving on to love the believers, the non-believers who can be considered to
consist of the people. Therefore, just like the first church, the current
church still endorses the need to love God first.

Whether
the Church Prioritizes To Engage In Laity and Witness

The
church is currently prioritizing the need to engage in Laity and Witness. In
this context, the church, and the members, in particular, are being expected to
give up their possessions and become part of Jesus’ great mission of spreading
the gospel. As stipulated in the scriptures, the church is creating a priority of
the element of doing nothing else but what pertains to Christ by sharing their
faith as a sign of being witnesses of the gospel and the great works of Christ[2]. The best way that the
church can actualize this is by ensuring that it spearheads and supports
evangelism and Christian humanitarian services amongst others as a way of
demonstrating what the gospel requires.
