How might breastfeeding rates be increased in the United States?
Breastfeeding should be exercised exclusively for any infant’s first half year of life and as such, even after weaning, the breastfeeding period is recommended to be continued consistently for the first year. Research findings by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) purport that mothers in the US fail miserably at adhering to WHO recommendations. This paper seeks to provide means with which counties in the US can enhance breastfeeding rates to reach and sustain CDC recommendations.
