Contrary, other therapeutic theories focus on patient’s past encounters. However, it has some weaknesses. its effectiveness of theatrical approaches is inadequate and it is not well developed.

They collaborated to link these disciplines with new information about human interaction and growth. Fritz Perls previously worked as psychiatrist in Germany. In 1920, he worked as an assistant humanistic psychologist Kurt Goldstein to treat brain-injured war soldiers. Contrary, Laura Perls trained with gestalt psychologist Max Wertheimer (Nevis, 2014). In 1933, both Laura and Fritz Perls fled Germany and migrated to South Africa.
They opened a psychoanalytic training center and started to establish the key ideas of gestalt therapy. Following the end of Second World War, they relocated to New York. The couple lived among different amazing intellects, teachers and artists. In this regard, these individuals shaped their diverse and sophisticated thinking (Farrands, 2013). Consequently, the theory of gestalt therapy was developed in this stimulating atmosphere.
Gestalt therapy was put forth in 1951 in the influential piece Gestalt Theory: Excitement and Growth in the Human Personality. The couple then developed early training centers across the country among the interested therapists (Farrands, 2013). The strategy focused on directness and experimental approaches and as a result became a part of the potential movement of human beings (Bar-Yoseph, 2012). From 1980s, majority of the gestalt experts started to emphasize on the intellectual long-term and depth utility of the theory.
